LAND MANAGEMENT
The Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. It administers more surface land (245 million acres or one-tenth of America's land base) and more subsurface mineral estate (700 million acres) than any other government agency in the United States.BLM California has a strong history of meeting the nation’s growing renewable energy needs and often sets the standard for sustainable development, while ensuring our natural, recreational, historical and cultural resources will be available for future generations.

He is also a senior fellow with the Center for American Greatness, and a regular contributor to the California Globe. His work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, National Review, Forbes, and other media outlets. Ring’s undergraduate degree is in Political Science from UC Davis, and he has an MBA in Finance from USC.
OIL AND GAS
The California State Lands Commission is responsible for regulating oil and gas production on California state lands. The commission put a moratorium on new oil and gas leases after the 1969 spill in Santa Barbara, however the leases issued before 1969 continue to generate significant revenue to the state, as they have for almost 80 years. There are 11 actively producing offshore oil and gas leases in state waters, which are what remain of the more than 60 originally issued. There are four offshore oil platforms in state waters off the coast of California. There are also four large artificial islands in the Long Beach Harbor, known as the Long Beach Unit, and one small artificial island, Rincon Island, located off Rincon Beach in Ventura County.

- Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is California's school funding formula enacted in 2013. The LCFF established uniform grade span grants and established funding for oversight activities and instructional programs. LCFF funding is allocated through the Principal Apportionment and is funded through a combination of local property taxes and state funding from the State School Fund and Education Protection Account.
